The Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN) is the women’s wing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). The Kano Chapter was established to serve as a platform for female accountants in Kano and its environs, promoting professional excellence, ethical practice, and community impact.

As the first Northern Chapter of SWAN, Kano has become a beacon of leadership and innovation, fostering the growth of women in the accounting profession and contributing to the socio-economic development of Northern Nigeria.

1. Professional Development

Organizing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training, workshops, and seminars.

2. Women & Youth Empowerment

Catch-Them-Young programs in secondary schools and universities.
Scholarships and mentorship for female accounting students.

3. Community Engagement

Outreach to women entrepreneurs and MSMEs to build financial management capacity.
Partnerships with government, private sector, and NGOs for social impact projects.
Charity and humanitarian interventions, especially in education and women’s welfare.

SWAN Kano Chapter is led by a dedicated Executive Committee, under the guidance of the National body and that of ICAN Kano & District Society. Our leadership team is committed to accountability, service, and excellence, ensuring that every member thrives personally and professionally.
